Haythem RIAHICo-Founder and CEO - CIRCA BIOTECH

Dr. Haythem Riahi holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology from AgroParisTech and an Executive MBA from the Sorbonne Business School in Paris. Over the course of more than 15 years, he served in senior capacities at international Biotechnology corporations, gaining expertise in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East along the way.

In 2020, Haythem partnered with Dr. Liudmila Prozorova and they founded Circa Biotech the first Waste-To-Feed project in the Middle East region. The purpose of the project is to convert food waste into highly nutritious animal feed and sustainable fuel using beneficial insects at an industrial scale.

In 2022 Her Excellency Meriem Al Mehiri Minister of Climate Change and Environment, inaugurated Circa Biotech’s first industrial plant in Masdar City and Signed an MOU with Circa Biotech to support the efforts of the UAE in diverting food waste from the landfills. Circa Biotech has won several awards and partnered with major companies like ADNOC to produce Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) using larvae oil as feedstock.
